For thousands of years, doctors and healers across civilizations spoke of one unifying principle: balance in the body. Health, they believed, was not simply the absence of disease, but the presence of harmony — between fluids, energies, or forces that sustained life.

The Greeks described balance in terms of the four humors — blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile. In India, Ayurveda spoke of the three doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Why Wearables Need Direct Autonomic Intelligence

For almost 30 years, heart rate variability (HRV) has been the go-to proxy for stress, recovery, and resilience across wearables because it was the best tool available.
