About Autonomic Health

About Us

We are building the future of precision preventive healthcare.

Healthcare today is fragmented, reactive, and often too late. It focuses on downstream symptoms, isolated organs, and static tests that miss how the body actually functions in real time. Autonomic Health was founded to change that by decoding the body’s real-time operating system: the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Our platform measures and interprets sympathetic and parasympathetic function directly, revealing early physiological instability before symptoms, labs, or vitals shift. Built on two decades of clinical autonomic medicine and an exclusive autonomic dataset, CloudANS™ turns the ANS into a system-wide, actionable signal for prevention, decision support, and longitudinal care. By making autonomic intelligence accessible through software, AI, and everyday wearables, we help clinicians and health platforms identify root causes earlier, guide more precise interventions, and track recovery over time. This is the missing nervous-system layer modern healthcare has never had.

Our mission is to unlock people’s full potential in life by improving their health, wellness, and performance.

Our founding story

Mission-driven founder

The founders of Autonomic Health

In December 2013, during a New Year’s meditation retreat in upstate New York, Sab Kanaujia, a veteran digital media entrepreneur at a personal inflection point, met three people who would profoundly shape his life and work. The retreat was led by Bob Thurman and Sharon Salzberg, pioneers of mindfulness in the West. Also present was a humanitarian officer from the United Nations, whom Sab would marry within ten months; Sharon later became godmother to their first daughter.

That retreat marked a turning point. Committed to a more purpose-driven life, Sab left the media industry to explore how technology could improve human wellbeing, and with Bob’s guidance founded Mindwell Labs in August 2019 as a consumer mental health company, its name suggested by Bob’s wife, Nena. Over time, Sab recognized a deeper parallel between his work in media and the state of modern healthcare: just as media had evolved from static, population-based broadcasting to personalized, real-time experiences using user data, healthcare remained largely reactive, relying on population averages from panels and scans.

He became convinced that the autonomic nervous system is the missing foundation for truly personalized, preventive care. That conviction led Sab to our Chief Medical Officer, an interventional cardiologist who had spent more than two decades building and validating a branch-level autonomic protocol over 20+ years of clinical practice. With that clinical foundation and an expanded team spanning medicine, AI, and engineering, Sab launched Autonomic Health in November 2024 to bring that protocol out of the clinic and into everyday life through software, AI, and wearables.

Meet our team

Our purpose-driven, multidisciplinary team combines decades of experience in entrepreneurship, medicine, and technology. With multiple successful exits, the commercial launch of the first clinical autonomic diagnostic in the United States led by our CMO in 2006, a growing patent portfolio, and 200+ peer-reviewed publications, we are building a category leader in personal health and performance.

Advisers

Why we exist

Autonomic Health was founded on a simple belief: many modern health conditions are regulation problems, not organ failures. This belief shapes how we build technology, how we think about care, and how we define autonomic health.
